Abstract

In the last three years, as a result of COVID-19, the way in which university professors transmit their knowledge to students has changed. In this sense, new paradigms have emerged based on the use of information and communication technologies, which allow a greater use of available learning resources. In this way, it impacts on a higher quality of the teaching-learning process, as well as student satisfaction and motivation. In this sense, the inverted classroom emerged as a new form of teaching, which allows interactive classes to be taught with higher levels of flexibility, in order to achieve the necessary adaptation to obtain better learning experiences. The objective is to analyze the perception of university students in the field of health regarding the use of the flipped classroom during COVID-19, in Ecuador. The study design is non-experimental cross-sectional and the scope is correlational, with a quantitative approach. We worked with a sample of n=345 university students in the field of health. The results show the presence of a statistical correlation between the use of the flipped classroom and the satisfactory perception of the student body (Spearman's Rho = 871), all of which improves the quality of education. That is why it can be said that the flipped classroom is a powerful tool for online learning. With its use, it is possible to better control the progress of student learning, as well as increase the motivation, satisfaction, capacity for innovation and creativity of the students.
