Analysis of the relationship between the natural sciences and theology, a review of the literature
Keywords:

Natural sciences and theology are two areas of knowledge with different philosophical presuppositions; hence, a large number of scientists claim that they belong to mutually exclusive fields of human thought. Due to this, it is that both scientific currents have had their clashes, so it tends to be considered that they are not related to each other. The objective is to analyze the relationship that exists between the natural sciences and theology, in order to find their complementation. The methodology that governs the work is characterized by a qualitative approach, with a descriptive scope. Historical-logical and synthetic analytical scientific methods are used to direct the investigation, as well as the technique of documentary analysis. The results indicate, first of all, that theology can also be considered as a science, although it has its own research methods for the analysis of its reality. Additionally, they are related to each other, since both have their own well-defined magisteria, hence their complementation enables a more comprehensive and complete analysis in a given context, free of reciprocal interference. Finally, their relationship can also be explained from the fact that all sciences need a philosophical basis for their operation. For all that has been discussed, it can be affirmed that both the natural sciences and theology are rational sciences that coexist with each other. In this way, from their coexistence, the existing phenomena that involve society and people can be better explained and understood.
