Pedagogical and professional skills in the Professional Figure of Agricultural Production

Abstract

In the current context of growing awareness about the importance of environmental and agricultural sustainability, strengthening the management of agricultural production units towards more sustainable practices has become a priority both locally and globally. Therefore, pedagogical strategies must be designed considering the conditions of the country, as well as the need to involve multiple actors linked to the process of strengthening the management of agricultural production units towards sustainability. In this sense, the object of study was the analysis of the pedagogical strategies used by teachers in the training module "Management of a Sustainable Agricultural Production Unit" in the Millennium Educational Unit "Celica". To collect information, observation was used, surveys, interviews and focus groups were applied, as well as documentary analysis. The study found that teachers' perceptions of their roles and practices are generally positive due to good grades. However, they also recognize the need for adequate equipment, materials and time for practical activities. The study emphasizes the need for hands-on teaching and learning, strengthening community connections, and developing entrepreneurship skills in students.
