Agricultural economy and its relationship with international trade

Abstract

It analyzes how agricultural economics and international trade are fundamental to the economic and social development of nations, agricultural economics, which includes activities such as crop production, livestock breeding, fishing and forestry, provides food security, employment and livelihood to rural communities, on the other hand, international trade in agricultural products allows to balance the production and demand for food worldwide, contributing to global food stability, this globalization has increased economic interdependence between countries, facilitating the flow of goods, services, capital and technology, allowing greater specialization and economic efficiency, however, also posing significant challenges, such as global competition, which can be disadvantageous for small farmers in developing countries, and intensive agricultural production can have negative effects on the environment, to address these challenges, it is essential to implement fair and sustainable trade practices, eliminate protectionist barriers and subsidies that distort markets, and adopt agricultural technologies that minimize the impact environmental, it also addresses the importance of protecting the rights of farmers, improving their working conditions and ensuring their access to global markets and finally, it analyzes the situation in Ecuador, where the agricultural economy plays a fundamental role in both economic and social progress, despite facing obstacles such as the volatility of international prices and global competition, this aims to improve agricultural infrastructure and promote technological innovation in order to increase productivity and sustainability of the sector.
