The Philosophy of Education in teacher training in the midst of educational changes

Abstract

The study of the Philosophy of Education is necessary for a comprehensive understanding of the educational phenomenon, critical and creative practice of teaching. It implies rethinking the meaning of education together with the meanings of the human, individual freedom, social progress, moral judgment, peace, justice and human rights from the tools offered by various philosophical and pedagogical traditions for the sake of build a broad, current and original understanding of the educational task in teacher training. The objective of this study is to assess the role of the philosophy of education and ethics in teacher training in the midst of educational changes. It was carried out under a qualitative approach, whose descriptive methodology allowed describing through the historical-logical method, how the object of philosophy evolved, as the center of the development of skills in students in basic training, as educators of the future. In the analysis of the subject of study with the students of the education career, it allowed to revalue the importance of the study of the Philosophy of Education, in the midst of educational changes, to contribute to their formation from reflection, analysis and understanding. with education and the development of epistemological, scientific and pedagogical foundations supported by educational innovation, based on an interdisciplinary knowledge of the Ecuadorian, Latin American and world reality.
