The excessive use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers has deteriorated the agricultural environment, generating problems such as pests and diseases. The objective of this study was to comparatively evaluate Trichoderma strains to improve anchorage in banana plants (Musa x paradisiaca), identifying those that optimize root development and resistance, promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The research was carried out with an experimental design with three groups of banana seedlings: T1 (Trichoderma harzianum), T2 (commercial product Trichotic), and a control group. Variables such as number and length of roots, root system volume, dry weight, and root diameter were evaluated. The results obtained were as follows: T1 showed the greatest increases in all anchorage variables, with a 43.22% increase in root length and 33.33% in root dry weight, compared to the control. T2 also improved the variables, but with more moderate increases. The following conclusion was reached: Treatment with Trichoderma harzianum (T1) is more effective in improving root anchorage and development of banana plants, suggesting its potential to reduce dependence on agrochemicals and improve agricultural sustainability. These results contribute to scientific knowledge and could have a positive impact on the economy and the environment.
