The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and TIC–TAC–TEP technologies stands out as one of the most significant transformations in higher education in the 21st century. This article aims to address academic production between 2015 and 2025 that examines the convergence of AI and digital technologies in the university context, with an emphasis on the Ecuadorian case. The methodology employed was a narrative and systematic bibliographic review, following the guidelines of Hernández Sampieri, Fernández-Collado, and Baptista (2014), which involved searches in international databases (Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC) and regional ones (Redalyc, SciELO, Dialnet). Inclusion and exclusion criteria were established, resulting in a final selection of 25 academic documents and institutional reports, which were organized into an analysis matrix. The results show that, at the international level, AI is mainly applied in learning analytics, recommendation systems, and personalized environments.
