The study focused on the analysis and application of search engine optimization (SEO) strategies with the aim of boosting the digital visibility of the tourist trains in Ibarra and Alausí, two iconic destinations for rail tourism in Ecuador. During the research, the main weaknesses in the digital presence of both services were identified, such as low search engine rankings, infrequent content updates, and limited interaction on social media. To improve their positioning, various on-page and off-page SEO strategies were applied. Internally, titles, meta descriptions, keywords, and image tags were optimized, and the structure of the websites was improved for more intuitive navigation. In terms of external SEO, the generation of quality links was encouraged through collaborations with travel blogs, tourist agencies, and local media. Content marketing tactics were also implemented, such as informative articles, attractive photographs, and virtual tours that highlighted the unique experience of traveling on the Ibarra and Alausí trains. These actions contributed to increased web traffic, improved Google positioning, and strengthened the digital identity of both tourist routes. Tourist trains have gained greater national and international recognition, establishing themselves as an attractive symbol of Ecuador's cultural and natural heritage to date.
