Implementation of a website with recommendation based on generative AI for searching for educational tools

This study examines the growth of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, which has generated a complex digital environment by hindering the search for appropriate methods to provide solutions for users. In the context of secondary education in Ecuador, this study proposes the design of a web-based recommendation system assisted by generative AI. Using the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology and a client-server architecture, a functional prototype was developed that integrates an Angular frontend, a Node.js backend with Express, and the Gemini AI model, which processes all queries in natural language. Data obtained through teacher surveys are fundamental, forming part of the system requirements definition. The prototype is structured around a JSON catalog and prompt engineering techniques to generate relevant recommendations. As a result, the system allows for the intuitive exploration and selection of tools. It is concluded that generative AI facilitates the development and implementation of efficient web systems that provide an optimal user experience and promote technological innovation in the professional field.
