Abstract

This research addresses the problem of low comprehension of historical milestones corresponding to the Ecuadorian presidential period from 1925 to 1944 among sixth grade students at the “Cruz del Norte”  Private Educational Unit. The objective was to determine the effectiveness of an Interactive Digital Didactic Unit designed using the Genially tool, based on the principles of constructivism and Mayer’s multimedia learning theory. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design was employed, applied to a sample of 29 students. The results obtained through the Student’s t-test for related samples revealed a statistically significant increase in academic performance, with the mean rising from 5.42 to 9.18 points (p < .001). The findings suggest that the pedagogical integration of interactive resources may enhance historical comprehension and strengthen student engagement compared to traditional methodologies based on expository texts.
