Abstract

Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder characterized by difficulties in reading, writing and spelling due to a compromise of phonological processing skills. This research aimed to integrate the use of digital tools as strategies of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in order to innovate the teaching-learning process and improve the academic performance of students with dyslexia of the Educational Unit "Ana Luz Solis". The study allowed to determine the progress in the performance of students with this disability in the different areas studied; the incorporation of digital tools managed to strengthen and improve cognitive skills such as executive functions, linguistic competence and student performance. Primary sources, articles and research reports were used to support its quantitative approach at a descriptive and field level. To diagnose problems in visual discrimination, selective attention, visual and error recognition, a knowledge test on the Dytective application was administered to the 30 students. According to the findings of the study, the use of digital tools such as Mimio Teach represents an opportunity to transform learning in children and adolescents with dyslexia, by improving their creative thinking, systematic and logical reasoning.
