Generation and duration of responses in different population and occupational strata in Ecuador

Abstract

In this study, given the characteristics of the information, it was possible to differentiate the effect of the first dose, although at the time of analysis, 37.8% of the PS had the complete scheme. This strategy has been implemented by the United Kingdom, Canada and recently by Ecuador. As materials and methods, the review of the study was bibliographic. A search was carried out for scientific articles published within the years 2018-2022 in the PubMed, SciELO, Redalyc, Medigraphic databases in which the MeSH terms "population strata" and "Ecuador" were used. The inclusion criteria were articles from all countries, published for no more than the previous 3 years, in Spanish and English. Bibliographic studies carried out specifically in Ecuador were chosen. Articles that did not study the generation and duration of responses or that in themselves had inconclusive results were excluded. In conclusion, the efficacy of vaccines in preventing adverse effects has remained relatively high over time, although it tends to be slightly lower in older adults and people with weakened immune systems.
