This research addresses the problem of Alienation from work and its impact on positive Roles at work and the Organizational Structure. In this sense, the general objectives are: 1) to explain to what extent the Organizational Structure determines the Individual Work Roles: compliant, adaptive and proactive; 2) explain to what extent Alienation intervenes in the relationship between the Perceived Organizational Structure and the Role in the performance of individual Work; and 3) explain to what extent the ICT Organizational Capacities affect the Organizational Structure: complexity, centralization and formalization. The research is quantitative, follows deductive logic. It uses Structural Equation Models (SEM) as a statistical method to test hypotheses. The scope is correlational, by making a cross-sectional study of the relevant variables, ex post facto and confirmatory. The subjects were addressed directly and individually, in the context of the construction sector in the State of Tabasco, Mexico, and within these companies. The final instrument, although it comes mostly from previous research with high levels of reliability and validity, was subjected to an iterative process of cross-translation and substantive validation with experts.
