Abstract

In the framework of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to carry out a study on its effects in the educational field. Objective: The objective of this article is to analyze the impact of virtual education on the learning of mathematics, in primary and secondary school students, in times of pandemic. Method: To carry out the work, the documentary analysis of literature related to virtual learning, mathematics learning, proposals for learning mathematics in a pandemic and comparative studies of pre- and post-pandemic learning results was used, putting into practice the theoretical-analytical technique (Gauchi, 2017). 51 articles were reviewed, through the Scopus and EBSCO and Redalyc databases. Results: Relevant information was obtained, related to the impact of the closure of schools due to the pandemic on mathematics learning, Conclusions: Favorable and unfavorable results were found regarding post-pandemic qualifications compared to pre-pandemic qualifications, it is concluded that those results that show an increase in student performance are not reliable or it is the influence of a determining factor for those results.
