Automation and artificial intelligence (AI) have brought new challenges for governments, among which are developing a workforce with the competencies and skills to achieve performance in line with the development of today's world, it is vital to adapt to the transformations that the jobs that exist today will have. This research work focuses on analyzing how artificial intelligence (AI) technologies affect and transform the functions and responsibilities associated with secretarial work. It is a mixed, descriptive, observational, non-experimental, retrospective, longitudinal research, using theoretical methods such as: analysis-synthesis, historical-logical. Information will be collected from the surveys applied through the Google Forms tool, with simple random sampling of 45 secretaries and office workers who work through the use of ICT in the city of Portoviejo. The results demonstrated how the integration of artificial intelligence in secretarial work has the potential to significantly transform the work environment, improving efficiency and productivity by automating routine tasks, although it also poses challenges related to the adaptation of skills, the information security and ethical considerations.
