Viabilidad teórica de sogas elaboradas con fibra de banano y plástico reciclado para aplicaciones auxiliares en la construcción

Resumen

El impacto ambiental asociado al uso de sogas sintéticas en el sector de la construcción, especialmente su persistencia y contribución potencial a la generación de microplásticos, evidencia la necesidad de alternativas sostenibles que mantengan un desempeño técnico adecuado. En este contexto, el presente estudio evalúa la viabilidad teórica del uso de sogas elaboradas a partir de fibra de banano y plástico reciclado para aplicaciones auxiliares en obra. La investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño descriptivo y transversal. Se integraron dos componentes complementarios: una revisión de literatura científica reciente sobre propiedades mecánicas, tratamientos y aplicaciones de la fibra de banano en materiales ingenieriles, y un estudio empírico basado en encuestas estructuradas dirigidas a profesionales vinculados al sector de la construcción. Los datos recolectados fueron analizados mediante estadística descriptiva y contrastados con la evidencia técnica reportada. Los resultados indican que las sogas constituyen un insumo de uso frecuente en obra, principalmente en tareas de amarre y soporte auxiliar. Los profesionales priorizan criterios técnicos como resistencia a tracción, durabilidad, seguridad y comportamiento frente a humedad y abrasión por encima de atributos ambientales. No obstante, se observa una disposición favorable hacia alternativas sostenibles cuando estas cumplen requisitos técnicos mínimos y cuentan con respaldo técnico verificable. Se concluye que las sogas basadas en fibra de banano y plástico reciclado son conceptualmente viables para usos auxiliares no estructurales, aunque su adopción depende de validación experimental, certificación y cumplimiento de estándares técnicos.
