Abstract

Technological gamification significantly influenced users' emotional regulation by incorporating game dynamics in digital platforms and virtual environments. Through mobile applications, online educational platforms and interactive tools, elements such as badges, scoreboards, personalized challenges and digital rewards were implemented, which encouraged active participation and kept the user's attention. These strategies increased student motivation and also facilitated the development of emotional skills. Technological gamified environments offered controlled and safe spaces where students faced progressive challenges that required emotional self-regulation. By experiencing virtual failures or immediate achievements, users learned to tolerate frustration, manage anxiety and recognize their emotions. Similarly, notifications, avatars and instant feedback provided a stimulating environment that has promoted self-monitoring and thought development. Digital gamification fostered engagement and persistence, especially in activities that traditionally generated disinterest or stress. In addition, technology platforms can monitor the emotional evolution of users and adjust content based on their emotional responses. Technological gamification plays a key role in emotion regulation by combining the appeal of games with the capabilities of technology to provide interactive and emotionally dignifying experiences. These digital tools enhance the processes of self-knowledge, promote empathy in collaborative virtual environments and facilitate the development of emotional skills useful in everyday life and in professional environments.
