Analfabetismo del cuidado: un límite en la atención crítica

El analfabetismo del cuidado limita la calidad de la atención crítica, afectando la comprensión y ejecución de intervenciones clave en unidades de cuidados intensivos. El objetivo fue describir las dimensiones del analfabetismo del cuidado que limitan la implementación de un cuidado integral en las UCI. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo. Con un diseño descriptivo de tipo revisión bibliográfica, la población fue de 52 artículos, con una muestra de 27 artículos de los cuales se seleccionó una muestra de 27 artículos obtenidos de bases de datos reconocidas como PubMed, Scopus, MEDLINE, Latindex, Springer, SciELO y Crossref. Asimismo, se consultaron herramientas de búsqueda académica como Google Scholar y fuentes de referencia como Institute for Scientific Information. La selección de artículos consideró criterios de elegibilidad específicos para garantizar la relevancia y calidad de las publicaciones. El analfabetismo del cuidado en las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos limitó el cuidado integral al impactar dimensiones como la formación emocional, ética, digital y organizacional. Las barreras culturales y estructurales obstaculizaron la autonomía del personal y la participación de los pacientes. Sin embargo, aunque la formación continua mejoró competencias, fue insuficiente ante la complejidad de estos entornos.
